Best Bathroom Best Design

NATURAL WOOD SHIPLAP

At a Charleston guest home, the master bathroom's sinks are by Kohler, the unlacquered brass fittings are by Watermark Designs and the shower is lined in Alabama white marble. The sconces are 1930s Italian. The walls are lined in shiplap using a finish.

MOROCCAN MOTIF

A powder room in a worldly Los Angeles house includes Ann Sacks's Maghreb 4 tiles on the wall. Arturo sconces by Paul Ferrante. Forbidden City mirror by Bunny Williams Home. Mehraab sink for Stephanie Odegard with the Versailles fittings of THG.

TROUGH SINK

The boys' bath in a Lake Tahoe home designed by Matt O'Dorisio has a massive trough sink plus a pendant from Schoolhouse Electric Supply & Co..

FLORAL BATHTUB

Designer Kathryn M. Ireland's Greta background in Reverse Green adds appeal into a guest tub in a Cape Cod getaway. The slipper seat is covered in Red in her Roses linen.

WHITE AND BLACK

Designers Ray Booth and Elizabeth Kennedy under-mounted twin Kathryn sinks from Kohler Inside This master bath. The faucets are from Kallista and the custom cushions are by McAlpine.

SUNNY POOL HOUSE

Guests at a North Carolina home made by MA Allen soda in this changing place before hitting the pool. A built-in seat doubles as storage space for towels, along with a gooseneck lighting fixture out of Barn Electric Co. brightens the CB2 mirror.

MODERN ZEN

"The danger in doing a modern bathroom is that it can feel cold," says Pamela Butz, who remodeled this home near Boston with partner Jeffrey Klug. Their answer was a design that errs on the side of simplicity, but with beautiful, natural materials that "speak for themselves."

FRESH CITRUS

The powder area's present citrus-yellow wallpaper within this colorful home looks even fresher with the addition of a window shade in a chartreuse-yellow silk, trimmed in Barbara Barry's Tang Tassel -- equally by Krave.

Frameless Shower Door

CORNER MIRROR

The planet's smallest powder rooms should replicate this configuration. While clutter gets stashed behind the fabric skirt sink maximizes every inch hung. Add a dose of charm by sneaking in an orchid that is elegant and mounting plates.
